As you start
transitioning from just drawing funny people, to putting them in comic strips
and comic books, you will find that there are some things that you
absent-mindedly script into a story before you find out that you HATE drawing
them, due to your unfamiliarity with them! For me, that was any tall
building, modern car, horse, woman,
ears, or
just about anything else that wasn't an earless male monster! At first, I
"solved" this problem by writing stories that did not have any undrawable
element in them. Then I realized that I sorta had to
draw something else (at least once in awhile), so I began to write stories that
FORCED me to draw the stuff I hated to draw (like, say, a woman riding a horse
through big city traffic...while pointing to her ears). Amazingly, I not
only got better at drawing those things, but I began to enjoy them as
well! So, that's my advice. If there is a sort of thing that you
hate to draw (because you are uncomfortable with it), force yourself to draw
that thing until you love
it!
